The date for “What You Didn’t Learn in Law School,” the second Managing Partner Development Institute, LLC conference, has been chnaged to April 11 and 12, 2008, at the same location (and same schedule) in Pittsburgh. My partners and I made the change in response to requests from attendees who were concerned about the weather (and football) in Pittsburgh in January. This conference, with a host of guest speakers, (including Robert W. Denney, president of Robert Denney Associates, one of the first law firm management consulting firms in the United States; Martha Hess, business development manager, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, PC, and Corinne Cook, market research manager at PNC), promises to be terrific follow-up to our inauagural conference. Mark the date.
We’ve also extended the early bird registration deadline. Space is limited. I hope you can attend.

It’s hard to believe, but the 2nd What You Didn’t Learn in Law School seminar (from the Managing Partner Development Institute) is just a month away. Ellen Freedman, David Sorin, MaryBeth Pratt and I have revamped the popular program to make it even more informative, with breakout sessions, etc. The program will be held on January 11 and 12, 2008 at the Pittsburgh Marriott. For more information, go to www.managingpartnerinstitute.org.

The first What You Didn’t Learn In Law School (two day seminar) sponsored by the Managing Partner Development Institute was by all measures a huge success. As a result, my partners (Ellen Freedman, Mary Beth Pratt and David Sorin) and I are planning the next Institute, this time for Pittsburgh. The tentative dates are January 11-12, 2008 (somewhere in Pittsburgh). I’ll keep you posted.
Plus, we’re just days away from launching our Managing Partner Listserv. I’ll keep you posted about that too.

That’s right, there’s another legal education seminar, the Managing Partner Development Institute, but I’m a partner (shall we say “co-founder”) of this one. Along with PBA Law Practice Management guru Ellen Freedman (whose brainchild this is), Attorney David Sorin, and law firm PR maven Mary Beth Pratt, we’re creating the first, and only, conference designed to educate managing partners and managing partner wannabes in firms from 2 to 50+ lawyers how to do their jobs better/more efficiently and, hopefully, more profitably. The Institute is June 1 and 2 at Normandy Farm in Blue Bell. We have an exciting, intense program planned, and expect that this is just the firm of many to come (along with other services like listserves, podcasts, etc.). Interested? I hope so. Just go to www.managingpartnerinstitute.org for more information, and to register. I’d love to see you there.
